Steve Race MP visits Exeter International cafe

Member of parliament for Exeter Steve Race visited the Exeter International cafe recently to meet local internationals and people seeking asylum from a nearby hotel.

He chatted with guests and answered questions on what an MP does, as well as speaking about his first year on the back benches in the Houses of Parliament. Questions included what it was like juggling London and Exeter, how an MP can help local constituents and they type of help and he can give.

Guests from China, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Ghana then enjoyed a quiz on democracy, organised by professor John Heathershaw from Exeter University.

It was the first visit by an member of parliament to the cafe since its inception in 2022. Steve's contribution was well received and the international café team will be inviting him to return at some point in the future.
